PLACEBO EFFECT

Placebo effect is the phenomenon where a patient is treated with a compound that has no therapeutic effects, usually a sugar pill, and which the patient believes as the real medicine that improves his condition.

The belief that the therapeutic effects of homeopathy are placebo effects is countered by the following evidence:

- Homeopathy has effects on infants and patients who are in a coma, where the placebo effect is impossible.
- Homeopathy has therapeutic effects on animals, where there is absolutely no auto-suggestion.
- The results of auto-suggestion are usually short (weeks, days or even hours) while the effect of homeopathy is long.

And the reasonable question posed is:

Why it is that only the homeopathic doctor can have a placebo effect and not the allopathic doctors?
